Keke's Breakfast Cafe in Orlando, Florida
My wife and I stopped for breakfast at Keke's Restaurant and Cafe in Orlando, Florida today. Breakfast and brunch places seem to be a dime a dozen and most of them seem to offer the exact same things with the exact same names. Not so at Keke's. Keke's is a real gem. The staff is very welcoming, and friendly like you might find at an old neighborhood diner, but in a more modern, upscale environment that would make any millennial comfortable. The menu has tons of offerings and build your own options. My wife had the French toast with sausage links. She loved it. I had a build your own platter with scrambled eggs, bacon and what they call a Florida Pancake. The normal order of Florida pancakes is 2 pancakes, but as part of a build your own it only comes as a single Pancake. However, it was so big, I couldn't even finish the one. It covers a large plate and is covered with banana and strawberry slices with a few blueberries as well. Total awesomeness. My bacon (4 slices) were cooked to perfection. Not too crisp and not too limp. Our coffee was kept full and we were checked on the appropriate number of times with being intrusive. It was busy this morning but we didn't have to wait, however I'm sure it's busier on weekends. When people do have to wait, they have lots of benches outside in a covered area.
So are there any negatives? Not really. I would have liked a little whipped cream with the fruit on my pancake, but then I really like whipped cream. It was still good without it. When in Orlando, Florida, I would highly recommend this spot. You won't be disappointed.
