Mia’s Italian Kitchen in Orlando, FL
Tonight my wife and I went to Mia's Italian Kitchen in Orlando Florida. This is a really popular place and I can see why. We tried to come last night, but without a reservation, we couldn't get in until sometime after 9pm. So, we made a reservation for tonight, and we're glad we did. First...this place is very large, and they still fill it. The ambiance is dark, but comfortable. It has a very upscale feel. The tables are set far enough apart where you don't feel on top of each other. Our server was Jonathan and he has only been with Mia's for 2 weeks, but he was very friendly, knowledgeable and showed every indication that he had been very well trained. When asked, he had very good knowledge about the entrée choices and based on what we had, his suggestions were spot on. We both had chicken Parmigiano. I was originally thinking lasagna, but after his description of how large it was, and our not having the ability to bring leftovers home, I changed my mind. It was just the right size portion of fresh, in house made pasta, covered with a nice, homemade sauce, and a nice sized chicken cutlet. I also tried a non-alcoholic drink called a Rossa Fizz. It was an excellent Italian soda made with a crushed orange slice. Not too sweet and very refreshing. We also split a Limoncello Tiramisu. Wow was this a great choice. It was much better than regular Tiramisu.
So are there any negatives. Yes....but they are minor. The music is pleasant, but seems too loud and makes it difficult to hold a conversation. It is dark and some may find it hard to read the menu, but it really was a very minor issue and it made it feel much more upscale. When in Orlando, this is definitely worth making reservations for.
